Haddington Court Heartbreak

Looking resplendent in their new black shirts, Goldenwood Social Club started off their 2007 volleyball season last night at 7:00 at Bankey Field. Unfortunately, their opponents, The Court Jesters, didn't kick off their season until about 7:05 and by that point were already down 10-0. The Jesters managed to close the gap a bit, but never really threatened the Club and lost 21-12ish.

After some liquid refreshment, The Jesters, now playing with 3 women, took an early lead in game 2, and though the team in black stayed close, the heroes of Haddington Court won the game to the delight of the crowd.

It all came down to game 3, as it usually does when these long time rivals meet. As the sun set behind the mountain, a Social Club late game rally was enough to end the Jester's unbeaten season. Final score: Social Club 21 - Jesters 17. The Yellow warriors were distraught at the loss, but some more liquid refreshment and everything was right again with the world.
